John David Swearingen Sr., 85, of Napoleon passed away 7:45 p.m. on Feb. 28, 2025, at Vancrest of Holgate.He was born Aug. 28, 1939, in Fostoria, Ohio, to John Arden and Alyce (Bahnsen) Swearingen. John married Ruthann Wiemken on June 15, 1963, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Napoleon, and she survives him.Also surviving are their two children, John David Swearingen Jr. (Jason Perkins), of Napoleon and Ann Marie (William) Ross of Fairview Park, Ohio; three grandchildren, Elizabeth (Cody) Bumgarner, of Newton Falls, Ohio, Hannah (Lucas) Hubbard, of North Adams, Michigan, and Georgia Ross, of Fairview Park, Ohio; and one brother, Tom (Carolyn) Swearingen of Lake Oswego, Oregon.He was preceded in death by his parents, and numerous aunts and uncles.John served in the National Guard from 1962-68. He was a self employed Electrical Contractor, owning and operating Bartels Electric in Napoleon since 1980, and could fix anything, not just electric.John was very involved in the community and his c
